Bio

AudioUnit is the solo project of Australian-based artist Brian Clark, who has been performing and frequenting the festival scene since the late ’90s.

Brian’s love of the psy-trance scene and dedication to the music led him into the studio, drawing on his roots as a bass player to develop his own brand of funky, full-on psychedelic. Along the way he met collaborative artist and “wasabi brother” Chromatone. In 2013 the pair released their EP Challenge of the Grid on Zero One Music, which tore up the psy scene with its heart-pounding dancefloor hits.

Since then AudioUnit has steadily released EPs and singles year after year — beginning with his first solo EP Dirty Funkatronic in 2014 — followed by The Prophet (2015), ChromAUnit – Chair Chucking and solo EP Adventure Time with the legendary NANO Records (2016), all reaching the Top 5 & Top 10 on Beatport’s Psy-Trance Top 100. More recently Brian has been releasing on Future Music Records, Iboga’s sister label, which is quickly sweeping through the international scene.

With releases across NANO Records, Zero One Music, Iboga, Future Music Records, IONO and 3rd Eye Japan, AudioUnit is an Australian icon with worldwide recognition for his meticulous production and unique full-on funky style. His debut album Groove Machine (2018) hit No. 1 on Beatport’s Psy-Trance chart and held the Top 10 for close to a month — nine tracks of unmistakably funky full-on.

AudioUnit’s music is stomping psy dancefloors across the world, featuring on the main stages of Rainbow Serpent, Maitreya, Psyfari, Dragon Dreaming, Mushroom Valley, Vortex Festival (South Africa) and many more. This veteran of the psychedelic scene is sure to give you an experience you won’t forget.
